It was 48 years overdue, but the 2015 Firle Hill Climb, revived and organised by the Bo Peep Drivers Club, was a glorious event. It featured 70 cars from veterans to modern classics, had 2000 spectators, raised £5000 for charities, and used the South Downs as a background. It was warm, it failed entirely to rain, and it was free. The second Firle revival has a heck of a lot to live up to, but we’ve a feeling that even if it chucks it down, it’ll be on its way to becoming one of the great British classic events. www.bopeepdriversclub.com
