You can’t beat the lush Chiltern Hills as a backdrop, but add in a great selection of cars (and motorcycles) and the result is a fabulously laid-back atmosphere that surely recreates hillclimbs of the past. From Edwardian giants to heavily-modified specials it’s a genuinely fabulous day out at what is one of the oldest English hillclimb specials. Revived in 2009 the event has grown in status but is pleasingly not commercialised – if you went to the Great Auclum National Speed Climb in Berkshire in its latter days you’ll love this. www.kophillclimb.org.uk
