HOW YOU CAN HELP

- matthewollman@rootesarchivecentre.org.uk

Any contributions to the Rootes Archive Centre, big or small, will help it achieve its goal of owning a modern, fit-for-purpose building with space to expand if necessary.

It will have facilities for clubs to hold meetings and events, and most importantly a permanent safe and secure place for the archive. You can become a ‘friend’ to the centre from £15 a year, which gives free admission to events plus a regular magazine, and options to visit and browse/research.

However, the Trust is especially seeking contributions from individuals or companies of £500, either as a one-off, in five yearly installments of £100 or even a standing order of £1.93 per week. In addition to financial pledges, volunteers with relevant experience in marketing, property law or VAT are encouraged to join the dedicated sub-committee driving the project forward.

Money gathered so far has come from long-term RACT sponsor Stewart Miller and Peter James Insurance, while the Sunbeam Alpine Owners’ Club has donated £1500 and offered a loan of £10,000, while the Sunbeam Rapier Owners’ Club has also given £1500. ‘We’ve had a lot of support already from the clubs,’ says Matthew Ollman, who can be contacted for any enquiries or to discuss the programme.
