Classic Car Weekly (UK)

How important is a location to making a sale go well? This week the previews and the review are of sales held with a country house as a backdrop. Now it might have some ‘halo’ effect, and it might not, but where a sale takes place surely helps make it, in the same way that many punters like ACA’s and SWVA’s drive-through locations. A sale might have the right cars, but if punters have struggled to get there, struggled to park and then can’t buy a decent cuppa, they won’t be happy – and who can blame them? Make punters feel they’re part of something and the auctioneer’s on to a winner each and every time. And if they don’t give due consideration to the bidders, those with the cash in their pocket will go elsewhere.
