MIDGET BUYING TIPS

-

1 Midgets rot everywhere, including on the doubles kinned bonnet leading edge. Beware plated-over chassis box-sections, which can fester unseen, but don’t dismiss a frilly, but mechanically sound car – parts back-up is second to none.

2 The packed engine bay means temperatures can soar in traffic. An electric fan and modern radiator are well worth considering.

3 The mechanical fuel pump sits in the engine bay – consider fitting a more efficient electric pump and relocating it nearer the petrol tank. Electronic ignition is a good call, too.
