TS numbers in a twist

Reference the letter of the week in the 12 April issue, about John Surtees’ cars, I offer the following correction.

The writer claims that the car in the photo on page 5 of the 5 April issue was a Surtees TS5, when in fact it is the Surtees TS7 of 1970.

As John’s chief mechanic at that time, I was responsible for the building, set-up and running of both the TS5 in 1969, and the TS7. Bill Granger, Nuthall, Notts.
