Classic Risers Aston Martin DBS

- David Simister

You only have to look at the latest prices from Bonhams’ Aston Martin sale on 13 May to see that the DBS isn’t the bargain it once was – but it’s hard to believe just how much values have increased for a GT long underrated by the market. Had you shopped around back in 2002 you could have picked one up for well under £20k, but prices took off in the latter half of the last decade. You’re now looking at nearer £75k for a good six-pot model, and considerably more for one of the later V8s. DBS values have been sucked upwards by buyers priced out of DB4-6 models – it’s worth remembering that a good DB5 could still be snapped up for less than £50k 15 years ago, even with a healthy queue of would-be owners. Today, if you are looking for an Aston that’s still within the reach of mere mortals we’d definitely recommend a DB7.
