Think 1980s Porsches never suffer from rot? Here was proof positive that this simply isn’t the case. In this example’s defence it had ‘been on condition alert’ since 1994 and had suffered light frontal damage, but this was one for the very determined and/or suitably well off. Serious corrosion in the front wings and door shuts (extending upwards as far as the door latch on the driver’s side) was, if nothing else, interesting, and the interior wasn’t an especially nice place to be, being worn and dirty. All-in-all a great project, and (whisper it) potentially a fabulous trackday car.
