An Alfa lot for Fangio fans

REVIEW: Vintage Posters, Ewbanks, Woking, Surrey, 2 June Tucked away in a collection of film examples in Ewbanks’ recent Vintage Posters sale was a gem for the automobilia enthusiast. The original Italian showroom poster for an Alfa Romeo 1900 coupé featured a car that was presented to Juan Manual Fangio after he won the World Championship for Alfa in 1951.

The linen backed poster, 39in x 55in, with the lower space left blank where a dealer imprint could be placed, sold for a hammer price of £120. Fangio’s car featured bodywork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, with a 2-litre, four cylinder, twinoverhead cam engine. ewbanksauctions.co.uk
