Second generation here doesn’t necessarily mean second best. Sure, for some enthusiasts only the E30 M3 will do, but today’s market puts a hefty price on the best examples of these BMWs. As such, an E30 M3 Evo Sport in excellent condition now commands the same sort of price as a Jaguar E-type Series 1. Meanwhile, for the price of a ‘regular’ rst generation M3 project car, you can buy yourself a really rather nice second generation E36 M3. What the savvy buyer gets for their money is greater levels of comfort and refinement, greater performance and, arguably, suaver styling. Seriously, what’s not to love?
