VAUXHALL FANS REJOICE!

Griffin anniversaries galore prompt record attempt

-

Vauxhall fans plan to celebrate three important anniversaries at a rally featuring more than 2000 cars on 8-9 July.

The FD Victor is celebrating its 50th anniversary and it’s hoped that there will be a record-breaking 50 examples of these rare cars, as well as its Ventora and VX4/90 siblings. It’s also the Diamond Jubilee of the F-Type Victor and the PA series Cresta.

All will be guests of honour at the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association Annual Rally at a new venue – the Market Harborough Showground – after the rally’s previous venue, Billing Aquadrome, announced last year that it is no longer hosting motoring events.

The event will once again be very much a family-friendly affair and will feature everything from vintage Vauxhalls to new cars, commercial vehicles, a fairground and even a brass band.

Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association spokesman, John Ankerman, says: ‘ We have a lot of celebrations this year. The show is a bit of a new venture with the change of venue and we’re hoping that as many people as possible will come along and support us.’ Nick Larkin ❚ vboa.org.uk
