Big Easy Motors
Friday 21 July @ 10.30pm, History Channel
Oh no, not another car programme about buying, fixing and selling classics! Well, a) if you don’t enjoy classics, we’d suggest you’re reading the wrong publication. And b) this Louisiana-based show is rather charming. Big Easy Motors focuses on buying and selling to make a profit, and the usual peril is included. In this episode (series one, episode six), the two main protagonists, Charles and Trey, head to a farm in the boondocks (cue banjo, steel guitar and mandolin) to purchase their latest project – a dilapidated 1967 Ford Mustang. After discovering its rarity, the pair must decide whether to restore it back to original condition, or create a bad-ass modified speed king. It may be a tried-and-tested formula, but if you like this kind of thing, Big Easy Motors does have a southern dazzle all of its own. Murray Scullion
