Silk Road MGBs
The MG Car Club welcomed 14 enthusiasts who completed a 102-day trip from Bangkok to the spiritual home of MG in Abingdon-on-Thames.
The cars covered more than 15,000 miles and travelled through 18 countries before arriving at the MG Car Club’s Abingdon headquarters.
The group toured through Asia and the Middle East, navigating the famous Silk Road, before heading across Europe. They met various international branches of the MGCC during the trip, including in China, Iran and Thailand.
Event organiser, John Bastian, says: ‘It’s fantastic to be here after 102 days of travelling on the most fascinating roads, meeting people and exploring places we never thought we’d go to.
‘Every time we stopped, people would come and look at the cars. They may not be odd in England, but they are museum pieces in Iran and China. So many people have touched our lives, and we believe we touched other people’s lives, too.’
seven MGBs took on the trial – crossing 18 countries across asia and europe.
