FORD TAKES A GAMBLE WITH THE NEW MKIII

The ‘coke bottle’-styled Cortina is launched at the Earls Court Motor Show. It’s initially available with a variety of engines, including 1.3- and 1.6-litre OHV, together with 1.6- and 2.0-litre OHC. The combination of different trim levels, engines and saloon or estate bodies results in a line-up that comprises a total of 35 different models. The vinyl-roofed GXL is the ultimate version.
