Silverstone prepares for a busy weekend of race-ready and high-end classics
Silverstone’s two-day classic sale shouldn’t have trouble tapping into the desires of classic-free punters attending the Silverstone Classic. The cars offered are tailored the event’s punters, with emphasis on luxury and performance.
The first lot of the sale, a noreserve Bentley Turbo R, combines both elements in one large, highspeed package. Seekers of the more unusual might find the Healey Silverstone tempting, while a superbly-presented Capri 280 should keep the Fast Ford market on the boil. From the same era as the Capri, a 5700-miles-from-new Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 is likely to get punters waving their paws in the air.
A 1980 Ferrari 400i offers grand tourer experience, while one of the sale’s most-deserving cases is a requiring-restoration, one-owner 1970 Jaguar E-type FHC.
Silverstone Auctions will be in the right place once more to be moving the classic metal. 01926 691141 silverstoneauctions.com
