1968 Morris Minor 1000

WHO Victor Groves MILES 78,438 PROVENANCE Full repair history MODS Mild upgrades HOW MANY LEFT 7952 on road HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT? After a Google search for a Morris Minor, I bought this car in October 2016 from a Morris Minor specialist for £6300. I subsequently spent £4206 on new rear wings and having the paintwork tidied up in March this year. The previous owner had sprayed the car a slightly darker blue than original, which is believed to be the Bermuda Blue that Minor panda cars were painted. Sadly, though, he only resprayed the exterior, which means that he engine bay, inside the boot area and interior paintwork is still all original Smoke Grey. HOW MUCH HISTORY? I have all the history and repair bills since 1969, so that probably is all of it. The mileage of 78,438 is verified to some extent as I have every MoT certificate since 1986. WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT? The driver’s seat is having its padding replaced later this year. I have no current plans beyond that, other than to keep her tidy and maintained properly.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

Yes, but only in reversible ways that make the car more driveable. A brake servo has been fitted, along with an alternator and electronic ignition. Oh, and a cigarette lighter so I can plug in a satnav and other accessories. It also has a larger carburettor which paperwork seems to suggest is from an Austin Metro 1.3.
