HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

It’s actually my Mum’s car and is one of the 1000 numbered ‘Millennium’ special editions that Ford produced, all with the 1.7-litre engine. It has been kept in our garage under a fitted dust cover since March 2016. When we realised that mum was no longer able to use a clutch, we had to buy a car fitted with automatic transmission. The battery has been charged every few months and we regularly drive the car around the caravan park we own. We’re now at the stage where we want to know if it is worth keeping the car for any length of time, or whether she should just sell it now and if so, for how much.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

The car was bought from main dealer Newport Ford on 5 October 2000. The asking price at the time was £12,695.75 and it had 6981 miles on the clock. It has had just one previous owner, who we understand was a Ford employee. We have all the car’s history since then, though it has needed nothing doing to it beyond routine annual servicing and regular maintenance. The paperwork confirms that the mileage is genuine.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

There’s very little left to do on this car. The bodywork is in excellent condition throughout and to the best of my knowledge the car has only two minor problems that should be relatively easy enough to sort out. There’s a very small split in the driver’s seat and the original radio has stopped working, for some reason.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

No, the car is still in completely standard condition and is just as it left the factory, back in 2000.
