OUR FAVOURITE REVIVAL CARS
JAMES SADLIER MANAGING EDITOR 1978 RANGE ROVER
This Range Rover is the first vehicle to undergo extensive restoration by Land Rover Classic. The car, which was bought in 2015, was painstakingly renovated throughout so as to be completely true to its orignal condition, making it arguably the best example of its kind today.
MURRAY SCULLION NEWS EDITOR 1959 FORD FALCON
It didn’t perform particularly well, but it sounded like the Norse god of thunder having inadvertently trodden on a particularly sharp piece of Lego. Fifth Gear presenter, Tiff Needell, drove it on the Saturday, and it looked like a handful.
CHRIS HOPE FEATURES EDITOR 1959 BMW 3200 MICHELOTTI VIGNALE
Think ‘Giovanni Michelotti’ and you’re most likely to think ‘Triumph’, but the famed Italian designer penned this one-off take on the BMW 507 – definitely one of those wonderful ‘what could’ve been’ curios.
JOHN LAKEY SENIOR CONTRIBUTOR 1964 TVR GRIFFITH 400
I was smitten by Mike Whitaker’s TVR Griffith 400 the moment I saw it out-drag and out-noise a Ferrari 250LM on the run from the chicane to the main start straight during TT practice. I have family links to Blackpool so have always loved TVRs.
