The 24-Hour War

There are quite a few Le Mans documentaries out there. More and more seem to be added with each passing year of the race – but The 24 Hour War is easily one of the best made with the most interesting narrative. It follows the on-track Ferrari v Ford rivalry of the 1960s, as well as off-track battles between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari. It may gloss over some facts, like Henry Ford batting for both teams in World War Two. And Slough isn’t mentioned in the building of the GT40. But it does have fantastic insight from people at Ford and Ferrari, plus cameos from famous faces such as Mario Andretti and John Surtees, who provide colourful insights into one of the most thrilling motorsport rivalries ever – making it a worthwhile watch.
