Fuelling is by a gravity-fed carburettor that runs happily on unleaded fuel. You may get a bit of carbon build-up around the atmospheric inlet valve, but that’s easily sorted. The ignition system is also straightforward, essentially comprising contact breakers, high-tension coil and condenser. With no charging system, be sure to fit a powerful battery. Repacking and minor adjustment may be all that’s needed to overhaul the bronze water pump.
