ESSENTIAL DOS AND DON’TS FOR SEEING THE VETERANS

-

DO Plan where you will watch the run. Pub car parks and village greens are good for getting close but staying out of the way.

DO Arrive early if you want to witness the start in Hyde Park at 7am; to see all the cars at once, be there for 6:30am.

DO Book an open-top bus tour; the roofless Routemaster that follows the run is one of the best ways to see the event.

DON’T Expect to see all the cars arrive at Madeira Drive on time; breakdowns and dropouts are frequent.

DON’T Try to drive the route yourself; you’ll only get in the way, particularly when the run is getting underway.

DON’T Forget to wrap up warm and bring an umbrella. The weather has been kind in Brighton the past couple of years, but this is Britain in November, after all…
