Editor It was only a matter of time before something indisputably classic fell foul of the latest wave of scrappage schemes – and it seems to be the lack of flexibility in the rules that’s causing the problem. As the latest schemes are led by manufacturers, I’d like to see the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders encouraging its members to be more realistic about when not to scrap cars, and for a blanket agreement not to sign tax-exempt vehicles up for an early grave. I’m glad that my colleagues over at Practical
Classics are attempting to save this one.
