It’s not the treasure trove of privatelysold continental bargains it once was, but it’s still well worth heading to Essen for this show’s sheer scale and breadth of displays – and you’ll definitely need at least two days to enjoy it in full. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, and the Volkswagen Group all put together lavish displays of the gems from their heritage collections, but it’s worth having a look at the club displays hidden away in the upstairs halls, too, which usually have plenty of unusual offerings on show.
