Auctions: Sunbeam charm for under £14k at Historics’ next sale
Very much a rival to the MGB, the Sunbeam Alpine had a more cosmopolitan air, with earlier models featuring tail fins (pared down on the later models) but with a lusty performance to back its sporting looks. This car has been kept in a heated, de-humidified garage and its history dates back to 1993. The recent Pastel Blue re-paint (and white hardtop) gives it a smart air while the engine is fitted with a twin-chock Weber. More sparkling perry and pasta carbonara than the warm bitter and cheese sandwiches of an MGB, it’s another tempter from the Rootes Group.
