Classic fans: ‘We love the new TVR!’

-

TVR’s new Griffith graced the show this year after making its debut at the Goodwood Revival in September. The re-birth of the French brand, Alpine, was also present – as the latest A110 was on show, too. Alfa Romeo exhibited its new 4x4 and Volvo showed off new metal.

But, is the show becoming too modern? We asked you for your opinions… ANDY TURNER ‘The main reason I came was to see the new TVR! I didn’t go to the Goodwood Revival so this was the next chance to see it. And I like what I see.’ COLIN DAVIES ‘The TVR and the Alpine are welcome, but there has to be some kind of link to classics. It’s good to see classics now and again.’ NATHAN LISTER ‘I think some moderns are welcome, as long as we don’t lose out on clubs and restorers and the people who make the show great.’ ALASTAIR LISTER ‘Stuff like the Griffith is welcome, even if it is ugly. If anything, it’s the companies selling garden accessories that I think shouldn’t be here.’ DAVID WHITEHEAD ‘The TVR and the Alpine are both future classics, so it’s acceptable. If Ford brought along a new one-litre Fiesta, that would be too far.’ LEE STAPLETON ‘The TVR definitely will be a classic in 20 years, so in my opinion it’s a welcome addition. I wouldn’t want it to get too commercial, though.’
