VW’S HOLE IN ONE!

-

Every year the 20 finalists in the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership competition are the NEC’s centrepiece. Selected from 80 entries, the cars are considered to be the crème de la crème of the classic car world, each having been the subject of an amazing transformation.

Cars ranged from a Citroen CX GTi that was languishing in a barn only last year, to a Morris Marina 1.8 Special saloon – believed to be one of only six survivors – and a Toyota Corolla that’s been owned by twin brothers since 1987.

However, there can be only one overall winner. Showgoers voted for the car that they felt was the finest all weekend before the ‘Best in Show’ was selected on Sunday afternoon. Speaking before announcing the winners,

Wheeler Dealers’ Ant Anstead said: ‘I know what it takes to make a car beautiful – it takes a lot of passion, dedication, money and time, and for those guys here that are in this top 20 they’ve all already done something special.’
