1953 MORRIS MINOR CONVERTIBLE

-

PAUl hURD ‘It’s sidevalveengined and just about keeps up with modern traffic. It was built and registered in January 1953, which makes it one of the last of the Series MMs – the Series II came out in ’52 and the pair overlapped for a while, so there are certain features like the bulkhead (modified to accept an OHV engine) that give it away. It’s not an everyday car; it lives in the garage. I’ve been to Ireland in it five times and I’ve done almost every one of the club’s Minors on Tour trips. I did have to bite the bullet and put flashing indicators under the bumper though I’ve wired the flashers so that the trafficators work as well. I love it for what it is!’
