Back to Allardette

The Allard Owners’ Club had a car launch – or rather a relaunch – to shout about, with the recreation of an Anglia Allardette. The Allardette was a supercharged version of Ford’s 105E family car, and intended for competition purposes. A Shorrock supercharger boosted power from the standard 39bhp to 75bhp, and was combined with other changes such as front disc brakes and upgraded suspension. The modifications were available for the public to buy, with much publicity coming from Allard founder, Sydney Allard, and his son Alan campaigning one on the 1963 Monte Carlo Rally. Many other motorsport exploits followed.

Alan and son Lloyd put together this car from a standard Anglia over the last year. ‘We believe that there’s only one other survivor, which is part of the reason why we made this one,’ says Lloyd. ‘We plan to either rally it ourselves or sell it. It’s intended to shine light on Allard Sports Cars as a whole.’
