Virtual Porsche tour

-

Porsche has announced that it is to offer free virtual access to its museum.

Using real-time video technology, the company will allow visitors to experience a live, host-guided virtual tour of Porsche’s range of historic and modern vehicles at its famous car museum via its website.

The technology enables online visitors to explore Porsche’s unique history ‘in person’, without having to travel to the museum. Website visitors can now take an expertled tour of exhibits in the 5600-square metre venue, which is situated next to Porsche’s headquarters.

The Porsche museum currently has more than 80 vehicles on display, including rarely-seen prototypes. Special exhibitions regularly change, but there is currently a display depicting the development of the Porsche Cayenne, including a look back at Porsche 4x4 specials such as the 959 Dakar Rally cars and the Porsche 597 light military vehicle. Porsche Museum director, Achim Stejskal, says: ‘ This solution helps us to make the Porsche brand and the unique history of the company tangible for a wider group of people around the world. Whether you are based in the USA, Russia or the UK – everyone in all countries and regions of the world will be able to interact with us online. The virtual tour gives users the feeling of being right there in the exhibition.’ Online video tours of the Porsche Museum are held every Tuesday to Sunday 3-5pm. porsche.com/museum
