Low-mileage C4s fetch a premium, but they’re not easy to find. Convertibles are worth a bit more than coupés, with the ZR-1 the most valuable C4 of all. You’ll pay at least £10k for a standard coupé worth owning, with an equivalent ZR1 worth 20 percent more. The best coupés command £15k, with convertibles slightly more; track down a mint, low-mileage ZR-1 and you could pay up to £20k for it. Says Tom Falconer: ‘The best-value cars are those built between 1984 and 1989, as they’re easier to fix and much less complicated. Later cars are more problematic as they’re more complex.’
