HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

I bought my Granada in March 2004 from a friend-of-a-friend who had it stored in a barn near Knott End-onSea in Lancashire along with lots of other classics, including rare Jaguars etc. I understand that he had bought the car sometime previously to save it from being banger-raced. It’s currently insured for £9000, which may be a little low – I had the valuation done in 2013. I use the car most weekends, and on family holidays, occasionally for the drive to work, plus the odd classic car show.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

I’ve got minimal history with the car, but it must have been really well looked-after because the original engine, gearbox and so on are all in superb condition, plus the interior still looks like new. The mileage currently stands at 101,000.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

Nothing, really. It’s had lots of work carried out since 2004, including new rear arches, front valance, front wings and a respray. I’m a believer in preventative maintenance and replace anything that looks suspect or likely to cause a problem. The list of repairs and improvements I’ve done over the nearly 14 years I’ve owned it is extensive. It was a good car when I got it, just a bit tired around the edges, although it is now probably one of the best left and is as good close up as the picture suggest.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

Modifications included subtle audio upgrades, TRX (metric) wheels and spoilers from the Injection model, and a Weber 38 DGAS carburettor. I’ve also had some of the tired suspension bushes replaced with polyurethane ones.
