Help us to find 250 missing Triumphs!

-

The Triumph Roadster Club is appealing for information on more than 250 examples of the car that are believed to exist, but whose locations are unknown.

Although only 4501 roadsters were ever made between 1946 and 1949, the car has a high survival rate; around 1000 still exist, of which 750 are known to the club.

‘Like Land Rovers, the cars were built with many Birmabright panels and a strong chassis,’ says club spokesman, Andrew Morley. ‘We know of 750 cars, which means upwards of another 250 are not accounted for. We would very much like to know where as many as possible of these cars are.’

Some of the Roadsters are believed to be in storage and others have likely gone abroad.

‘Other cars were within the club years ago but have fallen off the radar,’ Andrew adds. ‘Plus, a lot of cars have gone to overseas buyers.’

The Triumph Roadster is best-known for its regular appearances in the Eighties BBC TV detective series, Bergerac. Nick Larkin
