Diversity gets Sandown punters dancing

E-type project makes £56.6k, press XR3 £16.8k, super Midget £12.2k and Viva SL £7.4k

There was enough on offer at Barons’ first sale of the year to tempt punters out to South West London on an extremely cold day and buyers liked what they saw: A diverse mix and a good atmosphere – enough to see a 1963 Jaguar E-type Roadster project off at £56,650.

A no-reserve, long-stored Mercedes-Benz 230GE surprised many, going for £12,320 and, looking forward to warmer weather, a restored supercharged 1970 MG Midget also made £12,320.

Barons’ next sale is on Saturday 21 April, at Sandown Park. ❚ 023 8066 8413 ❚ barons-auctions.com
