1936 BENTLEY PACEY-HASSAN SPECIAL

When I was a student I spotted that Bentley, Jaguar and Climax engineering design legend, Walter Hassan, was giving an afternoon talk about his life and work to a local engineering group. I failed to get a ticket but persuaded the local paper to let me cover it and got in as a reporter. He was fascinating and, obviously, super clever! I’ve been a huge fan of his work ever since so to see the Pacey-Hassan Special thundering around Goodwood driven by William Medcalf, and examine it in the pits, was worth coming for on its own.
