SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS
SIR STIRLING MOSS NATIONAL CAR CLUB JUDGES’ SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD Sponsored by Lancaster Insurance
Sir Stiring, who decided to retire after a sevendecade career back in January, was celebrated not only for his many achievements on track but also the years of dedicated support that he’s given to the classic car movement as a whole, including participating in the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC for many years. Award judge and editor of Practical Classics, Danny Hopkins, hails the racer as ‘a legend, icon, and a great friend of the classic car community’. Classic insurer Peter James, who collected the trophy on Sir Stirling’s behalf, says: ‘ There is no one more deserving of this award.’
DRUMMOND BLACK - JOWETT CAR CLUB NATIONAL CAR CLUB LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT Sponsored by Tourism Ireland
Drummond’s 54 years with the Jowett Car Club spans everything from newsletter editing and event marshalling, to looking after finances and assisting with restorations – and he does it all with a smile. So his experience is exactly the ‘significant and sustained contribution to a car club over many decades’ that the judges were looking for when considering this particular category. Rose and Arthur Peeling were also highly commended, for their 40 years of devoted service to the Morris Register.
