Prices of late Eighties and early Nineties BMWs are inverse to their size, making these E32s something of a bargain. Its a midrange model too, in long-wheelbase form and though mileage isn’t stated, apparently it’s low.

FIAT UNO

1990, 36,000 miles, £1500, lovely car, good clean condition. MoT March 2019, recently had discs and pads, 4 tyres and exhaust back box. Lots of old MoTs to prove the 36k miles. 07764 943080, Brampton.

p58 Fiat Uno

If you’re in need of a cheap, characterful daily runabout, you could do a lot worse than this Uno. Lots of recent work and low mileage are appealing, but it’s the lively handling and fizzy engine that hooks you in. A rarity today, too.

VOLVO 144

1971, 14,700 miles £3500, historic car tax, 10 months MoT, starts and drives well for a car 10 years older than me. 4 speed manual. Doors, bonnet and boot is all solid. 07955 428883, Saint Helens

p68 Volvo 144

You don’t see many 140s for sale anymore and if this car is as rust-free as the owner claims, it should pique the interest of any Volvo enthusiast. With its post-facelift black grille and orange paint, its as Seventies as Burt Reynolds’s moustache.
