HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

I acquired the car on 27 April 2010, having come accross it on eBay. I’ve carried out loads of work on it since including a full engine service with timing chains, tensioner and a new pulley, and fitting a new Holley carburettor and alloy inlet manifold. I’ve fitted a new header tank, too. Handily, a past owner had already fitted unleaded cylinder heads. The automatic gearbox was serviced and checked, and it has new rear springs and adjustable dampers, plus new brake pads and tyres. The bodywork has ben de-rusted and partially resprayed (the colour match is brilliant) and there’s now absolutely no rust either on the body or underneath on the chassis. Inside it has a new set of Wilton carpets.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

I have much of the car’s service history, along with a copy of the original build sheets, which I obtained from Martin Robey. These confirm that it still has the original paint and vinyl roof colours. The genuine mileage of 72,000 is supported by old MoTs and service receipts.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

There’s very little work outstanding, although the engine bay needs detailing and the front bumper could probably do with re-chroming. The car is currently valued at £20,000 for insurance purposes.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

The only modification that I am aware of is that I have been told by Jensen Owners’ Club members that much of the original exhaust gas clean-up system has been removed, which I understand is the norm for this make and model.
