Bristol Classic Car Show Lakes CCC Vehicle Show
Musical-inspired stand helps Bristol show to attract the crowds
The Morris Minor Owners’ Club’s Grease- inspired stand was one of the big draws at this two-day show at the Royal Bath & West Showground.
The Avon branch’s two-car display might have been narrowly pipped to the show’s overall club prize by the Austin Ten Drivers’ Club, but the Rydell High-themed display and members’ Pink Lady-inspired outfits helped it to earn the event’s runner up prize.
Club member, Sue Pay, said: ‘Everyone knows what a Morris Minor looks like and we always like to put on a creative display.
‘ Grease has been on the cards for some years now and the film’s 40th anniversary was an excellent excuse to have some fun.’ Other displays throughout the show’s halls included the Morgan Sports Car Club’s tribute to the Plus 8 and the Volvo Enthusiasts’ Club marking 90 years of Volvo trucks, while the area immediately outside the halls was given over to showgoers’ own classics.
The show’s organisers said that both the number of cars on show and the overall number of visitors had increased on 2017’s event.
Event planner, Vicky Bean, said: ‘ We are delighted that our hard work has resulted in significant growth for the show across all areas.
‘Our ultimate goal is to grow these fantastic events and keep the classic car scene alive and well, and this weekend has achieved just that.’
