6 MGB ROADSTER
CHIC, BRISK AND PRACTICAL – WHAT WEEKEND DRIVER COULD ASK FOR MORE?
In November 1962, Road & Track thought that the MGB was ‘one of our favourite cars for motoring in narrow country lanes, with its really quick and precise steering, oversize brakes and a generous power reserve.’ Such is our familiarity with
the ‘B that it is sometimes too easy to overlook its vast achievements. To an American motorist of the early 1960s, the MG represented open-air motoring that blended a slightly more civilized approach (winding windows, external door handles) with a sense of individualism. Plus, the MGB must be one of the most elegant-looking cars of its generation.
