‘We got the car that even Renault Classic couldn’t find!’

A 25-car display chronicling Alpine’s heritage brought together the French manufacturer’s designs from across the globe.

The exhibition, which was assembled by the Fédération Francaise des Véhicules D’Époque (FFVE), France’s equivalent of the FBVHC – brought together owner-sourced examples of all of Alpine’s models, ranging from the A106 of the late 1950s through to the modern day A610.

It also included several licence-built Alpine models from across the globe, including a Mexican-built Dinalpin A110, a 1962 Willys Interlagos Cabriolet from Brazil and a 1968 Bulgaralpine – Bulgaria’s enormously rare version of the A110.

The FFVE said that it was delighted with the response from showgoers to the display, and pointed to the number of international models on show as a big success.

Laurent Heriou, director general, said: ‘ The idea was to bring together all the models and all the licence-built versions together, which as far as I’m aware is the first time that this has feat ever been done.

‘I’m really pleased with the efforts of the owners who have tried to make this happen – one has driven all the way from Alicante in Spain to Le Mans to be here, which is nearly a 2000-mile round trip.

‘As a Federation we’re also particularly pleased to have the Bulgaralpine here – even Renault Classic hasn’t been able to find one of those for its events before!’
