HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

It was a recent purchase. The car featured on Flipping Bangers in June, on the Blaze channel (it’s on Freeview and Sky). It was in episode ten. I bought it off a dealer who appeared on the show as the purchaser. He stuck it in his barn with other classics and advertised it in Feb 2018 for £2495. After many emails I struck a deal at a bargain price of £1500. This is the value I stated when I insured it but it’s clearly too low. I would like advice on its true value.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

It was discovered in a garage last year and recommissioned. There’s little service history as it was on SORN for years, I have the original service book running from 1983 to ‘88 where it covered 8000 miles with the first owner. He is now deceased. The next owner garaged it for about 13 years and hardly used it. He sold it to his neighbour who did the same up to 2017. I’ve tracked down and actually met owners two and three. Between them the mileage went from 8600 in 1983 to 17,300 in 2008, when it was laid up. In September 2017 Just Might Productions

discovered it for Flipping Bangers. Paul Brackley’s is the fourth name on the logbook. He was Edd China’s right-hand man on Wheeler Dealers.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

There’s a tiny bit of rust the size of a 50p under the screen rubber on the driver’s side which will be sorted. Zero rust anywhere else as it’s luckily always been garaged.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

I’ve added a nearside door mirror to stop me taking out silly cyclists that zoom up on the inside.
