Letters – it’s my first port of call!

The Your Letters page is my first port of call when CCW drops through the letterbox. In particular, the 1 July issue epitomised what makes us classic car petrolheads tick!

Jim Morrow chastised Richard Barnett’s comment that a Rover 100 sold at auction for a price that made restoration of a basket case unviable. Fortunately there are people like Mr Morrow out there who have the skills to restore basket cases and preserve our heritage.

The piece that impressed me the most, however, was the Value My Classic article on Ian Whiting’s 39-year restoration of his Land Rover S1. Despite what life threw at him Ian persevered with his restoration. It makes my 22-year restoration of a 1953 Morris Minor look like a quick fix!
