NOW IT’S YOUR TURN!
If you would like to meet up with your group of fellow classic car enthusiasts, here are some top tips to help you stay safe. Note that the advice given here is applicable to England only – Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland still have their own set of guidelines that must be adhered to. It’s also important to note that since guidelines are constantly under review, the information given here was up to date as we went to press. For the latest updates, visit gov.uk
■ As here, meetings should be capped to six people from up to six different households. People should also maintain a distance of ideally two metres between each other.
■ As tempting as it might be to inspect your friends’ handiwork during lockdown, avoid touching their vehicles (unless you’ve brought a pair of disposable gloves). ■ Wash your hands often or, failing that, ensure that you have a hand sanitiser gel in the glove box.
■ Consider bringing essential tools, a set of jump leads and a spare jerry can – remember, current guidelines prohibit people from separate households sharing a vehicle (even convertibles!), so you can’t get a lift in the event of a breakdown. ■ If you are feeling at all unwell (especially so if you have a persistent cough or a high temperature) don’t go and meet your friends – defer the meeting to a later date.
■ When you have met, feel free to send CCW some of your photos from the day so that we can include them in our Letters page. Email: editorial@ classiccarweekly.co.uk
