HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THE CAR?

My dad recently passed away and left us his immaculate Ruska Regina that we are looking to sell. We are finding it very difficult to establish what the value on it would be because he bought the car in awful condition and renovated it. So it must be worth a lot more than what he paid, which was £2100 in 2014. My mum and dad were in Cardigan on holiday and he spoke to a gentleman in a garage who showed him the Ruska under a dust sheet with things piled on top of it. After looking the car over, dad offered to buy it. This is also quite a rare car, I believe. I hope you are able to point us in the right direction. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

There’s not a lot of history – only stuff since dad bought it. The registration document shows four previous UK owners. It wasn’t driveable when purchased but it has since had a complete overall, including an engine re-build, new lights, new seats, a re-spray, a new dashboard, clocks, exhaust and the addition of a roll-bar. These are just the things that we can remember, but I know that he did a lot. The indicated mileage is 39,631, which we think is probably correct.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

It has a kill switch under the dashboard. I have also been told he fitted twin Weber carburettors to the 1600cc Volkswagen motor along with a deeper sump.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

As far as we know there’s no additional work left to do.
