2004 MG TF 120 Stepspeed

HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THE CAR?

I have owned the car from new and it has only done 34,306 miles since it was first registered on 30 April 2004. It is in Trophy Blue, with a ‘matching’ blue hood. I even have the original invoice from the local dealer, Clarks Motor Services, which was only a short walk from the Longbridge factory (now sadly mostly gone) where I used to work and where this car was built. I previously owned a Teal Blue 1972 MG Midget in my early twenties and fell in love with convertibles as it was such a great fun car. Buying the TF was like going on a trip down memory lane.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

The cylinder head gasket, timing belt, water pump and accessory belt were all replaced at 31,459 miles and other than that – tempting fate, no

WHAT WE RECKON

doubt – the car has always behaved impeccably. While not concours, it is in excellent condition and has always been lovingly cared for. The wheel arches are scrubbed clean at every wash and the paintwork had the Diamondbrite protection applied when new and these products have been used to clean and polish it ever since. Furthermore, it has been garaged all its life.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

It is all original other than an upgraded stereo system, though I do still have the original system too, so it could be returned to standard.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

It just needs to be driven, really. Most of the car’s miles were done during its early years, and in fact the last MoT expired on 4 July 2019, so that will need renewing.
