THE SHOWS WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO
Brooklands Military Vehicles Day Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0SL. 21 November
Last month’s Goodwood Revival featured a celebration of the 1946 Victory Parade that saw hundreds of WW2 vehicles with a military connection take to the circuit. These aren’t vehicles that I would usually seek out but I was captivated by them. As such, Brooklands Military Vehicles Day is now standing out on the calendar for me – expect the 80th birthday of the Willys ‘Jeep’ to be marked with a special display on the Finishing Straight, plus plenty of armoured staff cars, troop carriers and bikes.

The Late Brake Show Tour Manchester Central, Petersfield, Manchester, M2 3GX. 6 November
Manchester has been weirdly bereft of large indoor shows since the Classic Car Show vacated EventCity; by turning the car park below Manchester Central’s show hall into a display area, this should be nicely varied without being sprawling. Jonny and podcast cohost, Richard Porter (he of Smith and Sniff, and Top Gear) will also be on hand for Q&A sessions.

Interclassics Maastricht MMECC Maastricht, Netherlands. 13-16 January
With next year now looming on the horizon, my mind goes to the Netherlands’ start of the year show at Maastricht. It is the biggest indoor show in the country and an fascinating one for British enthusiasts, as the Dutch are equally into British classics as continental metal – making for an interesting mix. The 2022 event will celebrate the Dutch Grand Prix in particular.
