Decided to revive Jeep from its slumber; I’d pumped up the tyres to 50psi and disconnected the battery. It fired up straight away with fresh fuel, much to my amazement.

■ 2000 PEUGEOT 306 1.6 16v Having been unable to locate the exhaust leak myself, I’ve booked it in at my local garage – a ramp is needed for this, I think.
