VOTE FOR YOUR CAR CLUB HERO
Seven classic car enthusiasts have made the awards shortlist – but which one is your favourite?
The organiser of a national ceremony celebrating the greatest people, cars and initiatives in Britain’s classic car movement is encouraging Classic Car Weekly readers to vote for its Car Club Hero of the Year award.
We asked for submissions for the prestigious prize back in January and have whittled the entries down to a shortlist of seven enthusiasts, all of whom have gone above and beyond to help their car clubs over the past 12 months. You can vote for your favourite by going to the awards website, with voting closing at 11.59pm on Friday, 24 March – the opening day of the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with the winner being announced the following day.
The rest of the Ccw-supported awards are being judged by a panel of classic experts – CCW editor, David Simister, Danny Hopkins, editor of our sister magazine Practical Classics and Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs chairman, David Whale.
The awards are split into Special Recognition classes chosen by the members of the judging panel and At Show awards, which recognise the achievements and best cars of the clubs taking part in the wider show, held at the NEC in Birmingham.
There’ll also be a Celebrities Choice Award, which recognises a classic that wins the hearts and minds of motoring celebrities taking part in this year’s event.
Awards judge, David Simister said: ‘Even just making it on to this year’s shortlist is a huge achievement because all of these dedicated enthusiasts have worked tirelessly to make a difference for their clubs over the past year.
‘This prize is chosen by you, the readers of Classic Car Weekly, so if you think that someone on the shortlist deserves to win then do make sure that you go to the awards website and give them your vote.’
