Lancia Delta launches at Frankfurt Motor Show 1979 (also sold 1980-82 as the Saab-lancia 600 in Sweden); gets a facelift in 1982.

Delta HF launched in 1983 with 1585cc, 140bhp twin-cam turbo power. 150 Martini-liveried special editions built 1984-85. In October 1985 it is renamed Delta HF Turbo. HF gets 4wd with 2-litre turbo from April 1986. Model refined and renamed HF Integrale from September 1987, with box-flared wheelarche­s.

From March 1989 it becomes the HF Integrale 16-valve, with raised centre section of bonnet, 197bhp @ 5500rpm, 220lb ft @ 3000rpm.

Evoluzione arrives late 1991 to end 1992 with wider track and wider wheelarch flares, more cooling slots in front bumper. Power is up to 210bhp @ 5750rpm and 221lb ft @ 3500rpm.

Evo II (never rallied by the factory) available from June 1993, now with three-way catalyst, 215bhp, 232lb ft and wearing 16in wheels.

End of production in 1994 after 44,296 Integrales are produced.
