CHOOSE YOUR SHADOW COUPÉ
The first two-door versions of the Silver Shadow came in September 1965 with bodies from James Young. Just 50 were made.
Built by Rolls-royce-owned Mulliner Park Ward, the MPW coupé was introduced as an official Rolls and Bentley model in March 1966. Riding an inch lower than the four-door Shadow, the coupé had no name plate on its bootlid. A distinctive feature was the subtle kink in the waistline. A convertible version was introduced in September 1967.
From 1971 both coupé and convertible were relaunched with the Corniche name tag.
The Corniche II of 1977 was most readily recognisable by its black plastic bumpers. The model also enjoyed rack and pinion steering, and bi-level air conditioning. Silver Spirit rear suspension in late 1979 improved handing.
In 1980 the coupé version was discontinued, but the convertible continued until 1995.
